Hung Sin nui

Kuang Jianlian better known by her stage name Hung Sinnui , aliases Hong Xiannu, Hong Sinlui, Hung Hsiennu, Hong Sinloi, was a national treasure level Cantonese opera master and movie actress in China and Hong Kong.

Hung was born in Guangzhou as Kuang Jianlian or Kwong Kinlin in 1924. Her ancestral hometown is Kaiping, Guangdong. With her aunt Ho Fulin as her mentor, she began to sing Cantonese opera at the age of 12. She started from Mui Heung and her first stage name was Siu Yin Hung. She took to the stage from 1939, adopting the stage name Hung Sin Nui . Red line in Chinese folk legend signifying connecting relationships, especially marriage.
